This award is for a rabbit that competes and gets the first positions, and the rabbits compete
among five and there would be at least 3 exhibitors. Most of the rabbits that get this award are
the ones that get the BOS (Best Opposite Sex of Breed) and BOB (Best of Breed). However, this
mostly happens when there are around 5 breeds and distinctly 3 exhibitors.
There is provision for BIS as well to get a leg. But in every show there is only one leg that can be
awarded. There are more categories for awards such as BOSV (Best Opposite Sex of Variety),
BOV (Best of Variety). When the winners are selected for BOV as well as BOSV, judges select the
winners for the BOS and BOB category. If a doe is selected as the winner for the BOS, a buck will
be chosen for BOB. The last round is for the BIS which stands for Best in Show. All the rabbits
that win the BOB are given the last award that is the BIS to select the best rabbit of the contest.
There are positions like 1 st , 1 st runner up and 2 nd runner up. But sometimes there are Best 4
Class, Best 6 Class, and Reserve in Show as well.
2. Sweepstakes Points
At times when Rabbit Breeding specialists get their breed sanctioned by national clubs, they
can participate any show. One of the most important advantage of being a member of national
clubs is to appear for the sweepstakes points. When the year ends, the exhibitor gets to win a
special award for having good quality points.
